Roca Rey, Fortes, and Juan Ortega to Star in Málaga’s 2025 Picassian Bullfight
One of the most anticipated events of the 2025 Málaga Bullfighting Fair will take place on Holy Saturday, 19th April, with the celebration of the traditional Picassian Bullfight. Organised by Lances de Futuro in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Málaga, this unique spectacle will feature Roca Rey, Fortes, and Juan Ortega, who will face bulls from the prestigious Álvaro Núñez ranch. More than just a bullfight, this event is a tribute to the fusion of bullfighting and art, inspired by the legacy of Málaga-born genius Pablo Picasso.
The return of Roca Rey to La Malagueta is one of the highlights of this year’s line-up, following his unforgettable showdown with Fortes last August. Juan Ortega, known for his artistry and elegance in the ring, completes the trio in an event that also stands out for its distinctive staging. As in previous years, a renowned artist will design the official poster and oversee the creative elements, reinforcing the Picassian Bullfight’s status as both a cultural and taurine landmark.
